Hitting the road for a two day trip of hiking, fishing, and camping…we settled for the Grand Staircase-Escalante region of Utah, specifically the Upper and Lower Calf Creek.
Day one found us hiking down to the Upper Calf Creek to have a look at the waterfalls and fish the creek. Falls were spectacular but had no luck catching any fish at the pool. We headed further down the creek and found an area with plenty of small Cutthroat trout. Using Panther Martin lures, we managed to catch a few of these trout. Awesome!
The Upper Calf Creek was just beautiful, from the Falls to wading down the creek. Seems like most people stay up top and don’t hike down into the creek. Popular place for sure!
The hike out was pretty easy and we made our way outside the town of Escalante to camp in the Dixie National Forest where we cooked up a great meal and enjoyed the wind howling through the pine trees.
Stay tuned for Day 2, Lower Calf Creek!
Thanks for watching, stay safe out there! Tight Lines!
