We spent a lot of time driving around the west desserts of Utah, you can always tell when your getting close to civilization, you will see trash blowing around and sitting on the side of the road.

I moved here from California, I will say this its a bit different but in so many good ways. People are amazing, Honest and kind. Job opportunities are beyond plentiful. Housing and Cost of living is Low. They tend to take care of their residents more than anywhere I have ever lived.

If I wanted to visit Utah for a three or four day trip. Whats the best place to go?

  13. Random Person on September 8, 2021 at 11:29 pm

The 4 seasons of Utah are:
    Almost winter
    Winter
    Still winter
    Construction

Well they sure sound more accepting than states like Wyoming where it seems like an ‘us vs outsiders/liberals’^

Other dangerous animals we have here to look out for in our back country:

Bison & Moose – Awnry under even the most good of times, If they’re really annoyed, or startled by you (They Can Easily Kill who they run across (The Bison on Antelope Island often attack people)

Bobcats – Smaller then the local Mountain Lions (Puma’s) but still will happily tear into you if you get to close to them (or their litters of Kittens)

Wolverines – If you see one coming to you, its after you (without a doubt!) and throwing things at them, or screaming at them (to try to chase them away) will only pi$$ Them Off More towards you! They’re relentless and happily kill bears (and anything else they target) for food here) so if you see one coming to you (and pet dog for instance) and you’re near your car, get yourselves & pets into them and drive away from them until you are far from their site.. And if they raid your campsite for fish you’ve caught on a fishing trip (let them have them while you stay in your cars until they leave

Also hints on what to do if you do run into bears here:

‘Grizzlies’ are rare here nowadays (play dead if they take you down, and you might survive…)

‘Black bears’ are the common type of bear here and they’re easily (2-3 times) as heavy (large) as the Eastern US Black bears (If they attack you, Don’t Play Dead! Unlike Grizzlies they Eat The Prey they take down! (right there (or near there) you really have no other choice but to fight them, cause if you don’t, and make the mistake of playing dead to them they tend to eat you Alive (No joke)…

All day long traffic jams in St. George not sure anyone works anymore. Seems Californians have turned it into where they left. Hotter than hell 117 the other day.

Most of those are actually positives to me, and rest don’t matter. Does that mean I should move there (I already want to)?🙂

Moved to Provo about 6 months ago from Minneapolis, MN (less than 5 minutes from where George Floyd was killed). Originally from the UK and lived in Gujurat, India among other rough areas in the world.

Winters here are really mild from what I’ve seen. No more -55 to -60 below zero with wind chill.

Traffic isn’t that bad (I work in SLC near the airport) comparatively speaking.

I haven’t seen any true negatives here, only mild inconvenience is that everything closes on Sunday 😂

1 more to add Utah is boring as fu-

  27. Pepe The Patriot on September 8, 2021 at 11:49 pm

Poor service? Are you nuts? I moved to UT from WI and the customer service is literally the BEST I’ve ever encountered! Even fast food places have nice people! In Milwaukee if you order fast food they throw the bag at you and don’t even say thank you or anything, mostly you just get the whole "black attitude" thing in WI. If you think UT has bad customer service, think again!

Lol, We’ll be moving to West Valley in a couple of months to be closer to my wife’s family, and a lot of the stuff you mentioned applies to Metro Atlanta as well. In some cases like traffic it’s much much worse here. It can take me an hour and a half to drive 12 miles in town depending on the time of day. As far as animals we have all those you mentioned as well. The humidity here is unbearable at anywhere from 85-100% on a near daily basis in the summer. This was the second video of yours I’ve watched, and I just subscribed.

Best place to live in USA…I live here and I love it.it’s place where you can get peace.best thing about Utah is nice people

  30. Exodriver on September 8, 2021 at 11:56 pm

I moved to West Valley City from Southern California last fall, and like it up here in the Salt Lake City region a lot more than Southern California. While the winter weather took a little time to get used too, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, as I’m renting an apartment, so I don’t have to shovel snow.

The best part of where I live, is the apartment complex I’m in, Sandalwood Apts., is right across the street from Winco Foods, which is where I work now. How cool, and convenient is that? I don’t have to drive, or ride a bus, which saves me a lot of money, I’d have to spend on gas if I was driving, or on bus fare, if I was taking the bus to work, like I did when I lived in SoCal.

What’s nice too is West Valley seems to be much cleaner, and safer than Redlands, California, which is where I came from. Like most of California, Redlands, which is about a two hour drive from Los Angeles, was a nice clean working class community when my parents, brother, and I moved there in the mid eighties. It had turned into a high priced, crime ridden dump by the time my mom, (My dad passed away in 2014) brother, and I moved to West Valley.

Btw, I’m very conservative politically, so I won’t be voting for politicians that want to turn Utah into another failed socialist state California has become, like too many California escapees seem to want to do when they move to a more conservative state. Doesn’t make sense to me. Why move from a state you think is crap, just to vote for people, who’ll turn the state you moved to into another crappy failed socialist state, like the crappy failed socialist state you came from?

If you can’t keep your leftist, socialist politics in the failed socialist state you came from, then stay in your failed socialist state, and don’t be turning every new place you move to into the place you came from.

i have already lost. you make utah sound too good, i’m afraid you and your video will bring more of the ppl we don’t want, you know all the damn commies all meant to destroy every good thing here with their commie values.

i don’t want utah to become yet another commifornia within a decade!
just stop making utah look good, just stop! for the love of utah stop!

we don’t need no commie terrorists fucking up our state like they did everywhere else.

  33. Squee6669 on September 8, 2021 at 11:58 pm

As Utah’s representative I can say that it’s totally fine if you don’t want to move here. You might want to check out Wyoming or Idaho.

  34. Purpleboye_ on September 8, 2021 at 11:58 pm

I agree, please don’t move here.

  35. Ella Louise on September 8, 2021 at 11:59 pm

Just curious, if there is a low unemployment rate that means theres a lot of people with jobs. So how would there be low customer services or whatever if theres a load of people with jobs?

  36. socalsal627 on September 9, 2021 at 12:00 am

We’re thinking of Cedar City but locals say there is lots of snow in the winter (which is a plus for me who loves it). Is this because of the elevation there given I would say it falls in the southern part of the state?

  37. Elsewhere on September 9, 2021 at 12:00 am

Visiting Cedar City… So clean… Friendly people… Close to so many awesome parks and hiking! So far love Utah!

everywhere here is hiring but the tent city downtown keeps expanding people are too lazy to work and why would they want to if there getting paid to get high

  45. Big B on September 9, 2021 at 12:09 am

I live in upstate SC, one of the highest humidity places in the US. I can tell you that you wouldn’t like it. They’ve described the heat here as "oppressive" during the summer, this year has been just crazy. You can ad up to 20 degrees on the actual temperature, which is what you feel and it’s like a sauna….you can’t get away from it, even in the shade. 50, 60, 70 percent humidity is common and usually runs regularly around 50 or so. Makes your house doors go from loose to tight, you can sometimes hear your house creaking from expanding and compressing, wooden fences will warp and even pull nails out. Car windows will fog up and you can’t get them to clear up at times. We have the worst roads in america and they’re constantly working in them and the highways. We have terrible pollen and it’s overcast or cloudy 60% of the time. Also it’s soooo crowded here, people moving here left and right, and Hispanics are just about to take over parts of town. You can’t even go to the malls or shopping strip malls because they’re overrun by Hispanics. All that being said, I’ve been wanting to move to St. George. I’ll take low humidity, clear skies, and a 95% white population over where I am any day.

  47. Good Citizen on September 9, 2021 at 12:10 am

South Carolina relative humidity is 69.1% and it’s terrible. It can be 75 degrees out and you are soaking wet with sweat!

For these 10 negatives, I can name 100 positives (and I don’t even live there.) Question- why would a realtor emphasize negatives. Some occasional contrasting info. is fine but a top 10 of the negatives does not sound like a good business strategy.
